Unknown Number

Unknown: can u bring home a few boxes of tissues please?  And don’t forget the pie.

Mia: I’m sorry, I think u have the wrong number. Good luck with the tissues. And the pie.

Unknown: oh, my bad. Sorry.

Mia: that’s okay. 

Informing call from unknown number

“Samby? Ya there?”

“This isn’t Sam...sorry.”

“Oh, this is who I texted before isd’t it…s-sorry...huhhhHUTSSHSHCHuhh!”

“That’s alright. Bless you. Sounds like a bad cold.”

“Hedse the tissues.”

“You’re okay though?”

“HuhKSSHSHHHCHEWehh! God, sorry. Yeah I’mb okay.”

“Kay, then. Feel better.”

“Yeah, thagks.”

Call Ended

One month later

Unknown: sam, did you get the tissues?

Mia: wrong number. 

Unknown: whoops. Sorry. Been doin that a lot lately.

Mia: this has been happening to me a lot as well. Last person needed tissues too. That’s funny.

Unknown: holy crap. It was probably me. If I remember correctly I called u as well. I was running a bit of a fever. The memory's a little fuzzy.

Mia: yup. You still have a runny nose?

Unknown: Well, lately I’ve been a sneezy guy I guess.

Mia: oh? How so?

Unknown: colds and cats make me sneeze. I guess I’ve just caught a bunch of colds and been near a bunch of cats a lot in the last couple months.

Mia: poor thing. What’s your name?

Unknown: oh it doesn’t matter...I won’t let this happen again.

Mia: it DOES matter! What’s your name??? Mine’s mua.

Unknown: well hi, mua.

Mia: oh. Typo, sorry. It’s Mia.

Unknown: Mia, I’m Dean.

Mia: cool. Now I can make your contact Dean instead of unknown.

Dean: Alright. I’ll be back in a moment

Mia: hm Dean is a boring contact name. I don’t know much about you tho…what do u want it to be?

Mia: oh I got it!

Mia: where’d you go, anyway?

Sneezy Dean: Sorry. I had to get some tissues from Sammy and some Benadryl. I hate cats.

Mia: I hate cats too. I’ve been scratched one too many times. Who’s sammy?

Sneezy Dean: cats are downright evil. Sammy’s my brother.

Mia: agreed, cats are evil. Say hi to Sammy for me.

Sneezy Dean: will do, Mia 

Mia: Well sneezy Dean, I’m off. Maybe I’ll text you soon.

Two weeks later

 

Mia: you’ve stopped sneezing, I hope.

Sneezy Dean: For the time being...how are you?

Mia: ok...I caught a cold recently and thought of you…

Sneezy Dean: that’s funny. 

Mia: I keep sneezing. Maybe we’re long lost twins.

Sneezy Dean: we probably are...Bless you, I guess.

Mia: thanks. 

Sneezy Dean: …

Mia: where do u live? 

Mia: (it’s not creepy, just thinking we should meet sometime, tho)

Sneezy Dean: I move around all the time. Currently in Colarado.

Mia: oh yeah? I live in Denver!

Sneezy Dean: no wonder you have a cold. It’s always snowing there. Anyway, I’m leaving tomorrow but maybe next time.

Mia: that’s too bad. I’ll talk to you soon Dean.

Sneezy Dean: k bye.

Two months later

 

I take a seat in a free booth at Jay’s Dinner. 

“What’ll ya have sweetie?” Asks the waitress.

“Coffee, please. Black.”

“Comin’ up.”

“Thanks.”

Two tall men walk past me. One of them jerks forward in a tissue.

“HurUKKSUSHUHHH!”

“Bless you.” I mumble and blink the tiredness out of my eyes.

I hear a quiet ‘thanks’ and see that they’ve been seated in the booth next to mine.

Mia: hey

Sneezy Dean: Hi.

Mia: how’re you?

Sneezy Dean: caught another cold. U wouldn’t believe the winter I’ve had…

Mia: where are u now?

Sneezy Dean: a dinner…

Mia: no! I mean what state

Sneezy Dean: Oh. Williamsport Pennsylvania. 

Mia: you’re joking.

Sneezy Dean: not really…

Mia: I’m there too! Visiting my aunt.

I hear the man in the next booth sneeze four times, then is blessed by the man accompanying him.

Sneezy Dean: no freakin way! We should meet.

Mia: definitely. What dinner u at?

Sneezy Dean: Uh...jay’s dinner…maybe you don’t want to meet. I’m sick…

I hear the guy sneeze six times now.

Sneezy Dean: like I just sneezed like six times. You’d be infected already.

I get up out of my seat and go to the next booth. A bleary, green eyed man looks up at me, phone in one hand, tissue in the other.

“I think I already am infected.” I say, knowing it might not even be the guy I’ve been talking to.

“Huh?” He looks down at his phone and back up at me. “H-hhey! Hhh’HurTSHSHCHCHXXHH!”

“Jesus, bless you, Dean.”

He sniffles quietly and looks up at me with a small smile. “Mbaybe sdeezing isd’t such a terrible thing, Mia.”

I've been absent from the forum for almost 2 weeks and I discovered all your little Supernatural fics. Thank you for sharing!!! It's great! This one is one of my favorites because I love "text-fics" and the idea of an unknown woman having this "phone relation" with Dean was really original and enjoyable. She is really, really lucky... (Sigh) What I preferred was the "Sneezy Dean"...)
