AllergyTabs for Hay Fever

Felissa is a chronic hay fever sufferer. Her worst seasons are spring and fall. Fifty sneezes a day on average are the norm for Felissa during these months. Even if a tiny particle of dust or pollen gets in her nose, she will sneeze at least ten times.

Felissa listens to KSNZ upon awakening. They give the pollen count and she can adjust her hay fever meds accordingly.

One day the station announced a promotional campaign and contest. The winner had a chance to win a new car provided by the allergy medication company AllergyTabs. The contestant first had to qualify by submitting an essay about their hay fever and then sit in the car for eight hours with a vase of long stemmed red roses inside the car. They would be provided with AllergyTabs and a 10 minute break each hour. If they were able to sit in the car for eight hours, it was theirs.

Felissa felt it was worth a try and she qualified as the contestant.

The car was parked on a shopping center lot in front of a drug store selling AllergyTabs. The officials escorted her to the car and closed the door after she got in. She had taken AllergyTabs in advance, but she still began to sneeze in several violent fits until the medication kicked in. Finally her sneezing subsided despite the fragrant roses on the floor on the passenger side.

Felissa sneezed sporadically during the eight hours, but she endured and was elated that she won a car and discovered an effective hay fever medication.

When the time was up, an official from the company escorted her to a waiting TV news crew. The company was confident Felissa would give a ringing endorsement for AllergyTabs.

A reporter asked her how it felt to be the big winner.

As she was about to answer, a huge tickle interrupted her train of thought. “Oh, I’m sorry,” she began. I. . .I. . .I hafta. . .hafta. . .sss. . .eeeeeeeeeee. . . ESCHEWWW!!!

“Cut to commercial,” called the director.
